the difference between what we wanted and what management wanted to give us was less than 50 cents per ticket.

Any idea what that number translates to? I'm not even sure what to ask on how to relate it to anything else, but it's an interesting metric to think about. If you have a plane with <a number of seats> and you have <%full> (let's take COVID out of the picture for a sec), then I could see that number being noted, but still not huge for a 3-4 leg "pilot day," but less of an issue for long-haulers like you. Or am I misunderstanding? Maybe for HAL it's less of an issue because so many flights are longer, no?

I have know idea how they came up with it. The gurus at ALPA National told our pilot group that during the last negotiations and said it was based on the opening positions of the company and pilots.
