OCS 02Nov20 SNA/SNFO (Pilot/NFO) Board

Coriolanus

Pro-Rec SNA
Someone could have a ProRec-Y and not have a class date right?

It sounds like there is “back door” stuff being handled and set up right now. We already knew decisions are made the day of, if not the week of the board. So now people are inputting data into the system and figuring out the logistics of class dates and other lose ends.

I’m sure most of our recruiters could find unofficial info if they knew where to look, but it would make sense they would want to wait until all the dust settles and official letters are sent out.

Oh I know, I was just preparing myself if I asked to have him look up my name and then my name being there or not lol

I noticed he didn't say is own date.... I hope that's not the case, that's a terrible way to find out news.

Got the good news from my OR -- said he got word that myself and all his other candidates were selected. Nothing's official until it's in writing, of course, but I'm feeling pretty psyched.

I checked in with my OR yesterday afternoon. Allegedly, I have an OCS date of 26SEP21. While he said this is, "good news" he also mentioned that it is not definite. This still leaves me wondering why I might have an OCS date yet it not be, "definite."

One thought I do have is that I submitted a list of five (5) jobs that I wanted in order of preference. They are as follows:
  1. SNA
  2. Intel
  3. NFO
  4. Cyber
  5. SWO

I am wondering if the reason it is not, "definite" is because perhaps another job other than SNA gave me a PROREC - Y before my packet went to the SNA/NFO board.

Does anyone have any thoughts about why I might have an OCS date already and what the possible degree of certainty is that it is for SNA? I submitted to 02NOV20 SNA/NFO (which then became 26OCT20) immediately before the deadline. Not sure if those other communities have held a board yet.

Thank you for any insight or perspective you might add.

That's a lot to unpack and lot's of speculating on things that aren't definite. Long story short, it could be from any of them but probably not including SWO realistically, since that happened this past Monday, but who knows.

If they meant not definite for SNA/NFO I'd agree. Was your name on the aviation at-board list? If it was, that's a good sign, if it wasn't, you're probably looking at an OCS date for a different designator.

Looks like Intel was Sep 21 not sure when Cyber was. If you had an OCS date several weeks ago it's probably not from the aviation board. I'd imagine you would have already found out about an Intel selection though with a Sep 21 board, any result from that?

Consider also that we don't have the Pro-Rec letters to verify OCS date validity...

YO! I just bothered my OR as well, and he pulled my info! I'm in the same 26SEP21 Class Date! No Pro-Rec yet so it's like you said not official but he said it looks like a very good sign!

My OR sent me pictures of the online system used, and it looks like all 3 that I applied for made it to the board, and all passed pending Pro-Rec. In order they were:
  1. SNA
  2. SNFO
  3. SWO

He made it seem as well that OCS classes are backed up so the date might change up until we get our finsel/pro-rec.

Yes, my name was on the aviation at-board list.

I turned my application in on 18SEP20, so I'm unsure whether that was enough time to make it to the 21SEP20 Intel board.

I do not think I had an OCS several weeks ago, but I cannot confirm. But yes, I have not heard from any other potential boards either PROREC - Y or N.

I appreciate your feedback.

Congrats, man! I hope that "unofficial" news for you is valid.

For SWO, what was the date of that board and what was the submission deadline? That should help me through process of elimination.

I have eNTRS access so I can see OCS class rosters. I’m seeing some familiar names like @Terrypolanco2. A lot of these slots were requested on 11/04 so I think we could definitely hear something sooner rather than later.

UPDATE: To my previous posts

I have verified that my packet was at the SWO board on 9NOV20. So it is possible my OCS date is due to that.

@TonyWillingham, can you please check to see when my slot was requested if you have access to that? I'm hoping it was prior to 9NOV20. Name is Taylor, Hunter J.

That's terrifying.

Wait, do you see your own name?!

yes, they could. This just shows that a seat was requested for that individual which is a strong indication of ProRec-Y. It’s entirely possible they haven’t seated everyone. It’s just nice to see movement.

I’m AD, it works differently for us. They will contact our commands for release dates before scheduling us OCS classes. That’s when we’ll know if we were selected.

They have you slotted in a Sept. 2021 class and your seat was requested on 11/05. Unless there’s another Taylor, Hunter who applied for OCS at the same time. It doesn’t show middle initials. I would say that the likelihood of that is pretty low but not impossible lol

@TonyWillingham Thank you very much, I really do appreciate you taking the time to check that. It has helped me try to contextualize the process.
