Yes. My Marine roommate and his buddies carried an unnamed Navy O-6 around the casino floors as they all got shit-housed together. How could Marines like that not be welcome at hook. Oh yeah, he didn't have wings (or traps) yet. Neither did about 95% of us on the NALO and none of us caught a bit of shit from anyone. GO TO HOOK. You should at least experience it before you go fly harriers and do something retarded like land a jet on a boat without a hook. See you there dude (Ops willing).

The people who are there. You'll get a chance to meet folks that you otherwise would not have a prayer to be around.

A partial list of some of the folks I've rubbed shoulders with at a Tailhook reunion:
Alan Shepard (first American in space), Admiral George Morrison (Jim Morrison's Dad... you know... "The Lizard King," Light My Fire... etc), Eugene Cernan (the "last man on the Moon"), Jim Lovell (Apollo 13), Wally Schirrah (one of the original Mercury 7 astronauts... and only one to fly in Mercury, Gemini and Apollo spaceships), VADM Jim Stockdale, John McCain (twice... once in the '70s and once a couple of years ago), Naval Aviators that have flown off of the decks of every large-deck carrier since Langley (CV-1).
Many, many Navy Cross recipients from WW II, Korea and Vietnam.
Several Space Shuttle astronauts. Hank Caruso (the Aerocatures guy). Tim Weisberg (flute player... Google him if you don't know who he is).
Need I go on????

Oh, and the Second Annual AirWarriors get together outside of Gabe's deli on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, we'll surpass last year's number (okay, it was 4, but it was a start).
