It's in the Private Naval Aviator forum, which if you had more in your bio, you may or may not be eligible to read.

Hey Drummond,
This message is for the Great UnWashed Among us and not for any Pvt. Forum Types. From what o'l Jacky hears it maybe a $$$ issue. For instance there's some budgetary issues that may be impacting the release. Ex. all medical corps orders have been cancelled until next FY due to a lack of funds, and they are anticipating at least another few months after that before the final $ number is known for new orders to be cut. If that's true, then all Navy Personnel Command expenses (O-4 severances included) would be affected, and the SecNav could be holding up the list on purpose until the money is sorted out.

Just a little speculation.....and you don't have to go to some PF link to read it.

Let's see now . Last year (FY 15) the board met on 7 April and the message was released 8 July approximately four months. And, the SecNav took 17 days to review. This year (FY 16) the SecNav has had the list for 40 days and counting.
Although last year the total time from Board in to SecNav out was 102 days, this year it has already been more than 120 days and it still is not out. Maybe the time will be made up at the future stops but it is clear the SecNav is holding the list. Also as it relate to "pots of $$$" this administration I' m sure will move it where it believes it is needed.

Hope ultimately, for those whose future life choices are governed by the list, that the overall delay is just as you say ...7days.

I'm not sure from how you got the 120 days number. It is currently 98 days since the board started. Last year was 3 months (Apr to Jul) from board start to message release.

The relevant dates are board closure and message release.
FY15: Board closed 18 Apr; message released 8 Jul (81 days)
FY16: Board closed 29 May; message released ??? (87 days if released today). Like Flash said, 5ish days

Also, since the tracker hasn't been updated in 6 days, you can only really say SECNAV had it at least 36 days (SECDEF also sees it before the message pops).

Hey Gents,
It's moving. Just curious as to why the 18Aug. check didn't pick up the 11Aug. change? Gettin sloppy.
