And after April?

I won't have my degree conferral by April. I wouldn't believe it's possible to see a board before that, with everything else put together, right?

It would have been, you can apply generally 6 months before graduation.

No schedule released, probably Oct/Nov

Just a quick question. My FS paperwork states my clearance but says I have to start a NACLC before going to OCS anyway. Does this seem right? My current clearance rolls over to secret in the middle of this year but will be good for another 5.5 years.

Are you saying you have a TS right now? If that is the case because it is expiring from TS they will do an update.

I have SCI that expires sometime soon so I guess that must be it. I was hoping to not have to do another SF-86 in the near future because they are such a pain. Oh well, I'll start that tedious project and make sure I keep a copy this time.

This waiting is killing me! I've already been PQ'd by MEPS but apparently this security clearance is taking forever. I had everything filled out for it and got my fingerprints taken a few weeks ago, then last week my recruiter emails me some EQIP pages to sign so I did and scanned/emailed them back. Anyone have any idea how much longer it should take to get a FS letter?

Depends on the turn-around time on the security clearance paperwork.

I'm in the same boat. PQ'd with a waiver a few weeks ago, then was told last week that my background check had to be started again, I'm assuming because I had signed the papers for it over a year ago. Signed the E-QIP papers and faxed them last Tuesday, haven't heard anything since.

Update:

I talked to my processor today who said that my final select status was "delayed" or "marked" (I can't remember the term he used) because I put intel as my #3 community. I only did that to fill the space, but apparently it can mean that the applicant has intentions of waiting for the next board for that community. I told my processor I (naturally) wanted to go with my first pick (SNA), and he said he'd correct it in the system and my FS should come in in two weeks. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Also, I heard that the security investigation does not necessarily have to be complete for the FS letter or even OCS. It only has to be open. And apparently the Navy actually grants the clearance itself. OPM just gathers the information and submits a report to the Navy. Can anyone confirm this, or did I misunderstand?

Open is all that is required.
