Speaking of one prop vs. two (or even three or four), what happens if the Osprey loses an engine? Are the props interconnected to run off one engine?
No. It spins wildly out of control to a violent and fiery death.
That's because the engineers who designed it are retarded and never took into account that one of the engines might someday fail in flight.
^ Of course it is. You have to do all the stupid safety messages and reports for a P-3 non-event vice a real problem in the E-2.....
Because whether it's work related or not it still might count as a ground mishap and the safety dept is responsible for tracking and reporting on such things. Was just rereading this thread, and I had to laugh again at this. A couple weeks ago I was on crutches due to a possible stress fracture in my foot. It was likely just an overuse injury, these things happen, whatever. Not knowing what was wrong, our Safety/NATOPS LCPO comes up to me asking if I had filled out the safety report on my injury yet, thinking I had had an accident or something. I said no and that I wouldn't be filling one out, but how have we come to this? Yeah, if I had hurt myself on the plane or something, I could see this, but say I had just been retarded and dropped a weight on my foot at the gym or something, why the hell should I have to fill out paperwork on a non-work related event like this? Not to mention I really don't feel like becoming a candidate for the Friday Funnies or something.
Get to keep flying and hopefully try to pass some knowledge to nuggets....
Congrats, now we can shift the thread to "how not to be the P-3 guy in VT land who makes lift absolutely miserable for students who don't want to be P-3 guys...some of whom may be brash enough to want jets...."Well, looks like some hard work paid off, I got verbals to Whiting, Get to keep flying and hopefully try to pass some knowledge to nuggets...God help us...I'm pretty excited, now just have to get this pesky deployment out of the way....
Never understood that stereotype...every P-3 guy I flew with in primary was just happy to not be in a VP squadron when they showed up for their shore tour. Even at Vance.
