Piacevole,

How did you hear so soon? You are the only one of us that has heard your Supply selection this early.

Im actually in for Intel, not supply. It was from the August boards. I have to redo my PRT(it's over 90 days old) then I'll get my final select letter with my report date but Im ready to go now. So we'll see when they send me.

Though not looking forward to OCS in WINTER(brrrr) but hey, Im always up for a good challenge.

I am just so honored that they feel I am worthy and I will make the Navy and my Shipmates proud. I promise!!!!

That was actually for Piacevole, but that answered some good questions. So pretty much as soon as you do your PRT you will get the Final select? Why do we get Pro Req'd, then get Final Select? How many people actually don't get the final select?

Sorry ASH, your right. My mind has been racing most of the day now.

As for the Final Select thing, I know that everyone is different. Mine is like that because I am currently Enlisted Reserves. Usually we get our final select's faster because we do all the Medical, CLearance, PRT stuff BEFORE our packages are submitted. And if my PRT wasn't that old, I wouldnt even have to re-do it and would simply be waiting for my final select.

But since it is too old for them, I simply re-do it next with, my OR will send it in and they will send me my final select.

As far as not getting your final select, I understand in my case I would pretty much have to get arrested or commit terrorism or something to not get it now because everything else has cleared.

So it sounds like the Final Select is waiting for the Security Check, MEPS and PRT. If that is so, then I guess I am glad I did all of that before submiting my package. I figured that it had to be something big to not get a final select. Thanks and good luck with Intel.

Piacevole,

How did you hear so soon? You are the only one of us that has heard your Supply selection this early. I just found out that my package went through SWO and SNA yesterday (I thought that I had missed those boards) and Supply on Aug 28th, but I probably won't find out until next week. Do you know when your package was looked over? How soon until your get your final select?

I don't know why I heard so soon. I think my OR must have looked at the selection list as soon as it was posted. I assume my package was looked over at the same time as your's. Do you know for sure that your results aren't out, or has your OR just not called you? My OR says I could get my final select as early as the week of the 15th. I had my physical in July and my PRT in early August, so hopefully everything will move quickly. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ASHWND.

I called him, he said nothing yet, but he also said my package was being looked over by SWO and SNA on the 3rd, which I didn't think would happen. Maybe he is holding off until I get my final select... Hmmm

I appreciate your crossed fingers, I have been praying for weeks now. Did you decide what designator you are going to choose?

Glad things worked out for you Piacevole! I know my parents (read: my mom) needed a little time to adjust to the idea that this was what I wanted to do with my life when I started to talk about applying, so you're well on your way!

Congrats to the other pro-recs! Now lets get some final selects and start talking about OCS dates!

Final Select NFO
I was Pro-Rec on the August board for an NFO slot. I'm curious if anyone has a ROUGH idea of when the August Pro-Rec candidates can expect to start OCS. I told my recruiter I would like to go as soon as possible.

Thank you !

Do you have anything that needs to be waivered, specifically medical?

I hear anywhere from 1-3 months without a waiver, and over 6 months if you had shoulder (ect) surgery and it takes a while to go through. That is the time range after getting pro-rec'ed until getting final select. From final select, I don't know but would assume 2-3 months. Just keep PT'ing, stay out of trouble, learn what you can before OCS (take those online courses and so forth), and watch some football in the mean time -my advice.

Anyone that knows more please correct me or expound on this.
