There are always outliers, imagine a dart board, the bullseye is the perfect candidate, the majority of the people selected will be around the bullseye, some however will be on that line before you don't get any points.

Hey! fellow great waiter here, @OperationChungus I’m in a group chat with people from California and New York that were sworn in and given orders for March 22, 20220 OCS class, bags packed and itinerary in hand, only to be delayed March 17 after the Navadmin restricting movement.

So yes! We’ve all been told the same exact thing, SNAs aren’t priority and still don’t have ship dates??? I’ve been lurking to see how they’re handling ship dates for new selectees hoping the delayed folk aren’t forgotten and delayed any further. We’ll make it there eventually! Just staying hopeful and attempting to stay fit.

Fair enough. I just got a call from my chief trying to figure out when I want to go. Maybe it's different for those of us who are enlisted because there is the balance of losing someone filling a billet and making sure the command can still function until a replacement arrives.

My CO told me yesterday that PERS is moving really fast for the people that have been selected and are already enlisted. Meaning that people already in the Navy might get sooner OCS dates.

I happen to agree. My gpa was 2.64. 47 5-8-6 ASTB. Two letters of recommendations were former naval aviators. Number stats are not the only factor here in the selection process

I was selected with 53 6/7/6, and a 2.57 gpa in Psychology. Not very competitive by themselves

Maowczykowski is right. Stats are not always the deciding factor.

Im a prior service Marine with a Single deployment.

My LOR’s were probably my strongest part of my application.
4 Marine Corps Aviators (one Colonel, two LtCols, one Captain)
1 Marine Chief Warrant Officer 5 (My weather OIC)

again, they do the board in hours, not days or weeks, they take around a minute per application, many selections have no LOR's only the required references, if they have to take time to read LOR's it is often due to a waiver being needed.

The biggest issue with those going into the the aviation pipeline is that it is 2 years and if you fail out that is a big loss, the aviation community places most of the weight on the ASTB as that is the proven indicator of success in the pipeline, a SNA applicant with a 3.5 GPA and 6 for a PFAR is less desirable than an applicant with a 2.5 GPA and a PFAR of 8

The general rule before they raised the minimum scores was that those with 9's and 8's were almost always picked, those with 7's were 50/50 and those with 6's were a bit less than 50/50 and those with 5's were rarely picked as they had the worst record making through the pipeline, now that the minimum is 6 and they require a PQ from N3M it drastically reduces those that are not selected. The average selection rate before both of those changes was about 50%, now it has been much much higher, so it is more about do you have something in the application for them to turn you down.

The waiver is only a request to the board. The navy said the would be willing to take you, but the community board is the ultimate decider. Again that is just for that community
