Not sure how much it costs the NEX to stock them.. They are not stocked normally. Trousers and Jacket are special order. Trousers are not priced unreasonably, but with what the jacket costs, I doubt they are losing money.

I thought the trousers were the same (identical) to Marine Corps green trousers. If the NEX stocks those regularly, I don't see why it would cost any more... Plus correct me if I am wrong, but we bought the green Wheel cover at OCS and the Marine Corps piss cover would work also, right?

The AWG garrison cover is different from the USMC garrison cover. Different shape.

It has been endorsed and is on its way to the VCNO.

Excellent!!

I have to say I'm a bit surprised how far it's come. Especially considering that it started as a shot in the dark idea in the chat.

I think its safe to say that IF AWGs are saved it will be largely due to MB's efforts. Whether his motivation was to save a good looking uniform or just to prove Brett wrong... well the answer to that we may never know.

Being the optimist, I guess I had better shed those extra 10 pounds so I can squeeze my fat a$$ back into my Greens...

Being the optimist who just got a nice DLA bonus that I am, I went into the NEX at Corpus and not seeing any greens anywhere in the uniform shop, I asked the nice lady behind the desk about the whereabouts of some "Aviation Working Greens."

"We don't sell flightsuits, sir." came the reply.

"No, I have flightsuits I want to order some Aviation Working Greens."

"We can't order flightsuits. We don't sell them."

"No, not flightsuits, AWG's. Green jacket, green pants, tan shirt. . ."

"Oh, you mean Marine uniforms. They're over there."

"No, no. NAVY Aviation working Greens. They look like those, but different."

"????"

Grrrrr. . .

Small steps. Get them to speak English first. Or is that just a Washington NEX/Commissary thing? :icon_tong

My package went from VT21-TW2-CNATRA-CNAF and on to DC. Have not heard anything back from the DC board.

Proceedings may be running an article in the future on this subject.

Ours, or is someone else pushing this issue?
