Yep. Fast group finishes run and had to do sprints up and down the hill outside Nimitz hall until the other two groups got back. Slow group finishes run and drinks water.

haha so much for it pays to be a winner. that sucks... but at least you know your fast... or something like that ha

How about the medium group?

I was in the medium group. The medium group is always all spread out all over the place because you have poeple in there (slackers!) that should be in the fast group, and you have people in there (hard chargers) that really should be in the slow group. Then you have the people like me who actually belonged in the medium group.

I was a slow one.

Dunno about the medium group beyond the fact that they disbanded the slow group around week 5-6ish, so they'd just sprint up and down the hill till the mediums got back.

Everyone gets pushed to their individual limit. Those who have a higher limit get pushed farther.

PFA scores for Final Select?

I tried searching for this but I couldn't find a precise answer. Perhaps the search-gods are not in my favor.

I ran a PFA in which I scored Good-High on Pushups, Good-Medium on Situps, and Satisfactory Med (I think) on the run. I am pro-rec'd and just got these scores. 90 degree weather and high humidity does not really help.... Florida summers =/

Will that score be enough for a final select? I will be training my running and coming back to do another PFA in a few weeks, since I obviously need to improve. But my recruiter doesn't seem to know whether or not it will go through.

I am just hoping to get a clarification. I appreciate any help.

Those scores are above the required minimum, so yes you can get a FS with them. Like others will tell you it is all about the whole package not just one aspect. If you are solid in other areas of your application like GPA, LOR's, community service, etc you should have no worries. Definately work to improve those scores before OCS to help make your life easier once you get there.

If you already have your pro-rec your physical fitness test is not going to stop your FS as long as you passed the required minumum scores, which you did.

Be patient and good luck

just because you're fast doesn't mean you can't be made faster. the whole idea is to improve everyone and not just the slow people.
disbanded as in rolled them to H or they merged the three groups into two?
turtle group and medium group became one, and let me tell you the first run with the medium group which was led by our DI was probably one of the worst runs at OCS -- other than the run i did hung over and dehydrated of after a 3 day liberty.

yup definitely. just saying i'm sure the last thing the people that finish first wanna do are hill wind sprints after just busting their tails on the run... unless i guess your headed to bud/s after ocs

how do the groups break down? outstanding times to the fast group, excellent's in the medium and good's in the slow?

Which reminds me: 3-day liberty @ OCS = Boston in summer whites. Do it.

Dunno exactly where the cutoffs are. Sat-med is all you needed coming in, so I think they just did it by a certain run time that may or may not coincide with a PFA band.

Just make sure your cover doesn't grow legs and walk off. The ladies love the covers and want to take pictures in them, just make sure you get them back.

Definitely. I highly recommend hitting up a Red Sox game up there too. The people at the stadium were very accommodating. The vendors at the ballpark would not charge us for any of our food or drinks and the fans around us were buying us beer all game long.

After the game, it was time to hit up the clubs! None of the clubs charged us cover fees and gave us head of the line privileges. And once we got in the clubs, so many people were wanting to buy us beer and shots, we could barely keep up. (barely, we did :D). And yes, the girls cannot resist those uniforms.

Don't eat stuff that you aren't allowed to. Simple.
You'll know what that is when you get there. Take full advantage of everything that is allowed, but be a man and play the game for 12 weeks and then eat all the damn Cheetos you want. They aren't going to starve you so just suck it up.

Easy for you to say now. Everyone sneaks food from time to time... I remember the night when someone snuck in a box of powerbars and a few boxes of donuts... It was a PARTAY.

But yes, you can get attrited for lying, so generally I'd advise against it.
