Which Uniform?

He bowls overhand.
Thanks a bunch. I know a lot of this stuff seems minor, but one of the last things he did before he passed was give me a salute after I graduated OCS. Least I can do is get all this stuff right to honor him and his service.

Father in law just passed away and wife wants me to wear uniform to service. Was think SDB w ribbons. Now brother in law and wife want me to read the eulogy at the funeral? I am thinking it would be more appropriate/proper to wear medals since I will be giving the eulogy. Thoughts? Are white gloves mandatory if I am wearing medals? Not sure if anyone at the service will know and I will be the only one wearing a uniform as well.

My condolences. I wore my SDBs to my Mom's funeral. I wore medals (and read a eulogy). I wore gloves to carry her casket. Took them off otherwise.

Edit: fwiw, I only had (have) the McDonald's medal, so it wasn't very obvious.

I would go with the ribbons, I have been to two funerals of vets and folks just appreciated the uniform.

FWIW, the funeral honors details we send out (to vets' funerals) wear the ribbons.

FWIW, I thought you only had to wear gloves if you were carrying a sword. That said, the regs list them as part of FDB/FDW and prescribable for SDB/SDW, so it sounds like if you're wearing medals, you're technically supposed to wear white gloves. That said, to the consternation of Master Chiefs everywhere, there's "the regs" and "what everyone actually does."
