Which Ride?

Been meaning to epoxy the garage floor, but it's full of stuff! Now that my 40'x60' workshop is complete with 600 sf storage loft, all the stuff is going to the shop soon. BTW, when I built my house in 2020, my brother suggested making the garage door larger than normal, so I did. The door is 18' wide (most are only 16' wide), and 8' tall (most are only 7' tall). I can park my 4WD F-250 in the garage no problem. Also, get a quiet DIRECT DRIVE garage door opener....I love mine. My garage is insulated and finished.

I had a crew come and epoxy* my garage about two years ago. I rented a POD and stuffed all my tools in there, then brought it back out a few days later. It was excellent - the garage looks amazing.. though I've since sold the house :(

* I believe that they don't use actual epoxy anymore; there are more high-tech solutions available.

We bought our last home in San Diego in 2013, and while we were prepping the house for move in, I had the painter’s “epoxy” the garage floor. Loved it.
 
I always wanted to redo my garage floor but once moved in, there was no way I would ever be able to empty it enough to actually do it correctly. That is why I went the garage tile route. These are the Vevor version which I was able to get on sale and also stacked on a discount code on top of them as well. Now they are not perfect, when you park on them the tiles under the front wheels tend to slide around a bit and I need to flatten them out every once in a while. Also I live in a very dry climate so don't deal with lots of rain/snow. If I did I personally would only go this route if I had drains in the garage as well so you could easily bring in a hose and spray them down.

Additionally I went the Costco/NewAge cabinet route to add storage.

All this is nice because you can pick it all up and move it with you, which is good since we will be moving into a new house with a three car garage next weekend....

You need to take your brother out to Ruth Chris or a similar steakhouse- he did you a solid with the 18 ft wide door suggestion. We have a 3 car garage that can only fit 1 full sized SUV with the 16 ft door (my RAM will not fit beside it, but we are soon to add a golf cart so it will work out.). The single bay, due to the steps, can’t fit a car either but at least works as a shop for woodworking and model ship building. If I am ever lucky enough to get back a 1987 Buick Grand National (with T-Tops), I will have to build on a 4th bay.
 
Back in the news, GM is introducing 2 new naturally aspirated V-8’s for their light duty trucks: a 400HP 5.7L replacing the old 5.3L and a strong 480 HP 6.6L replacing the troubled 6.2L.

And for heavy duty news, GMC just announced an absolutely massive 8.3L V-8 turbo diesel replacing the 6.6L Duramax. That’s 505 cubic inches making 555 HP and 1,230 ft-lbs of torque. The horsepower wars have returned to Detroit!
