So I'll be going to Japan here in the next month or so, and I have a whole bunch of ammo that I can't ship, store, or throw away. Anyone in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area want it? No charge. PM me and we can figure out how to get it to you.

Alright, looking at stocking up on some 5.56/.223 (I can use either). I haven't bought in bulk since Jan of 05. Back then I bought some high quality .223 55 grain FMJ, 1000rds $126.00 shipped from www.dansammo.com. I don't remember the brand, I want to say it was some Lake City stuff or some kind of surplus, it wasn't Wolf or anything like that, real brass ammo. I did some looking around today and was shocked at the prices. $350 for 1000rds!?!?! What the hell is goin on out there?

Anyway, was curious if anybody out there has bought in bulk anywhere recently and can beat these prices. I've used dansammo.com in the past and have been very pleased, so I will go back there if I have to.

I paid $225 for 55gr LC about a year ago at a show, and I thought I was getting a screamin' deal at that.

Lead prices, copper prices, all up. That's part of it (China and India are a big reason those two commodity prices are up BTW)

Prices for the stuff being used in Iraq have gone up...I'll give you one guess where all the .223 / 5.56 is going?

Others calibers have shown smaller increases in price due to rising lead costs amongst other economic reasons.

I walk around the corner and say, "Hey, can I have some .223." Then it appears. It's great and it's free.
