exactly, so why go down a notch and be a cheerleader?

Go down a notch?

She's still a Naval Aviator and an Officer.

For someone to take a hobby/passion and reach the highest level you can with it is pretty impressive. To part of an NFL franchise in any way is no easy feat. While pursuing a Master's at the same time?

This feels like "The Player Haters Ball"...

or Bizarro World, since I can't remember ever not agreeing with rare21...

i guess i'm just pissed because i just saw a preview of the new Tommy Lee Jones movie. Insulting to my alma mater. Look around for the preview of it and you'll see what i mean (its has lots to do with cheerleaders).

...let the negative rep points begin...

No reserve squadron in SF. She's a student at Naval Post Grad School, hour or so south. She was in the FRS when I was.

Uh, she didn't look like that though.

Yeah, don't remember that either. Gotta love the P-3 navy.

Easy there wanna-bes, she is a Naval Officer

Lotta sh!t talk, considering she's winged, Plane Commander, and got into NPS.

Just a thought guys.
Definitely a lot of mouthing off from individuals that aren't commissioned officers nor winged and warfare qualified aviators.

My thoughts, not like there is much job security in P3 land right now for our year groups, so, good for her.

As for the SERE comment, Cate, no offense, but I don't ever want to go through SERE school again, it was a kick in the nuts, and I would list it up there in my accomplishments also, along with Winging and Navy Dive school.

Final thought, Steve man, does the better half know you are surfing the web looking at cheerleaders' pictures? :D

I wouldn't dream of knocking SERE school; far from it. What intrigued me there was a woman whose accomplishments include completing SERE school and POW training - and her role model is Oprah. There's just some kind of disconnect there for me.

Yeah, sounds like there's some sour grapes. She's good looking, a naval aviator, and pursuing a Masters...three things I'm not.

I could've sworn she was enlisted. I saw the issue. She was hot...she was also out of the Navy shortly thereafter. I think her enlistment was just about up when she posed.

i remember her being a "warfare qual'd" (I think SWO) Lieutenant and thats why it caused controversy. and the posing got her kicked out. Ah, gotta go do a google search.

Maybe there were 2 different girls then. I'm pretty positive the one I saw was enlisted. I must not have read the article well, nor paid enough attention to which uniforms she was posing "in." That happens sometimes when I "read" Playboy.

found this pretty quick

JACKSONVILLE, Fla-U.S. Navy officer, Lt. Frederica Spilman, 28 who
posed nude for the June edition of Playboy magazine will leave her
position as a jet navigator. The Navy took non-punitive action against
her after she appeared in the magazine. Since Spilman was leaving the
Navy in any case, the Navy took measures to assure she left. Spilman, a
naval academy graduate, told Playboy that posing for the magazine was
part of being able to "savor the freedoms which I am protecting." She
appears nude in one photograph and in others wearing loose-fitting
flight uniforms and camouflage lingerie under the headline 'Fly Girl'.
She said she planned to become a veterinarian.

The Playboy poser was an Officer (and so was her husband). She was discharged as I recall.

As for the cheerleader in question. Good for her, that's awesome. But Oprah? Well, I guess if that's the worst I can say about her she's OK with me. Well, the 9'ers works against her too ...
