The way I’m reading this, the attacking FO was subdued but the CA was incapacitated, and it was two commuting/deadheading pilots who actually took control and landed the airplane safely. Holy hell this could have gone so much worse than it did.

It's happend here, thankfully it's still a rare occuerance. I'd imagine that the danger level is as low as it can possibly be made in the US. Other parts of the world, not so much.




And sometimes, it's not even the pilots who decide to deviate from the plan.
