Had an associate whom I was winged with back in 96 get booted for some "gayness". There was always something strange about him but could never pin point it. He was an E-2 driver stationed in Norfolk. During my first deployment, word got back that an E-2 pilot was caught doing some kind of act with an enlisted sailor (male) in a parked car in the BEQ parking lot. It ended up being my associate which didn't really surprise me. The actual events were the military police saw this parked vehicle with two occupants. They approached the car and asked to see ID. My associate apparently told them he didn't have his on him and would have to go to his car to get it. They said okay but half way there he took off running :eek: . They caught him and he actually did have his ID own him. The police interrogated them seperatley and the enlisted kid admitted to some "gay" acts. My associate never admitted to anything but was processed out none the less. I have no doubt he adhered to the don't ask don't tell policy.

Well I guess I should rephrase a few things there...how's this...

DI's that shouldn't cuss, typically they do when they get away with it. With all the sensitivity training going on these days...well I won't get started on it..

Well ok I will get started on it.. Sensitivity training sounds like something you would do if you were going to be a sorority house mom rather than a trained soldier/sailor

and the stress card... Yeah that's a great peice of training equipment. I am stressed so I hold up my little card and you can't yell at me. So what happens when my ship is sinking or I am in a POW camp? "Wait mister terrorist you can't beat me I have my stress card!!"

Auto Carrier landings, true not a common practice but its getting there. Granted Carrier landing is a stressful thing especially after flying for 5-8 hours in a combat role and refueling several times in the process but it is the thing which seperated Naval aviators from the likes of the "Air" Force. It's a pride thing. The very fact that it can be done is one of those things that sticks in the back of your mind like...when you eat one of those real doughy doughnuts when you're dehydrayted...this is the future.

My point though is that The Navy is losing some of its Bad Ass-ness because of a bunch of silly policies and being PC or whatever. But hey I read in the Navy Times recently that the Chiefs are supposed to be getting tougher so maybe I am wrong.
Personally I think cussing should be a prereq to becoming a Chief. I think it would be great to hear "Good F**King Morning Sir" everyday.

I read your post and asked myself the following question, "How the fvck would you know?" Seems like you're commenting in an awfully authoritative manner about something you have no experience at, especially the Mode 1 landings. It's great to have an opinion, but I think you'll get more mileage out of this site by not trying to sound quite so salty.

Sorry the Navy isn't up to your demanding standards. I am sure they will make all the changes you need - tell the chief what's on your mind. Let him know the Navy isn't bad-ass enough for you. He'll love it even more when you tell him that carrier landings aren't challenging enough for you. I'm sure he'll placate your thirst for cussing at that point. He might even get tougher. Hey, if it's in Navy Times, it's gotta be true.

I agree with you as far as getting rid of sensitivity training. We need a bunch of red-meat eating, naked warriors raping and pillaging innocents, the enemy, and each other. Come to think of it, I think we'd be better off if the services were segregated again. This racial harmony crap is overrated. We should just stay with our own kind. Then we wouldn't need any more sensitivity training at all.

BTW, do us all a favor and scan & post a copy of your "stress card" that means "you can't yell at me." I'd love to see what one looks like.

"Tooter" was THE MAN ... and "A" man as well ... sometimes a rare combination these days. I was fortunate to serve under him and with him .... When he died -- way too young -- the Navy lost an icon of modern Naval Aviation.
 
I'm also curious when I've received any "sensitivity training" in the last 7 years...

Does the time my Opso told me to stop saying "Haji" count?
