P-3 guy, never go into the whole air refueling sex act.

You're a good man, Hal. And "A good man always knows his limitations..."

What's the point of that groovy green paint? Is it some anti-corrosion coating or was Boeing just in an Irish mood?

Is that from the boom hitting the plane? Ouch!

Yep. It's a combination of the tanker being at near-stall speeds, the boom flying squirrelly when it's that slow, and the lack of depth perception cues until you've already smacked into it's nose. You would think the Hog pilot would push his nose down a bit, but sometimes they don't.

^^ That huge dent just below where the vertical and horizontal white distance marker meet up is from this guy :icon_smil

And yes, I've smacked the gun. Night sucks

Hot from the Gulf

Just received this directly from RADM FOX, CCSG-10 aboard HST:

Fox said:
A good shot from yesterday - The Norwegian frigate HNoMS Roald Amundsen (F-311) steams alongside USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) during flight operations. The Norwegians are bringing over reindeer tonight to HST to serve a special Norwegian meal – honest! The Air Wing is calling it ‘Operation Rudolph’.
