Like Armo is saying, if it fits, you can put up to 4 pounds of stuff in your vest. The standard Navy issue knife is kind of a piece of crap. It dulls very easily. Personally, I don't even carry one, as it's a pain in the butt when you try and sit with it, my flashlight, my HABD bottle, and a holster (when I deploy). A lot of PR shops are putting Leathermans or Gerbers in vests nowadays. The other thing to keep in mind is that there's "less" room on the new vests now. The SV-2s are going away, and they had lots of space in the pockets to put things. W/ the new CMU-33s, everything is worn externally, hence my personal comfort choice. Then again, I carry a Leatherman, so I'm not w/out something.
