sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

I am an active-duty OCS select scheduled to report in October. If my military provider starts me on
prescribed medication before I report, does that change my current medical qualification or require an accession medical waiver/review, and who should receive the updated medical documentation?

Got the call yesterday, selected for Student Naval Aviator! I’m Serbian Orthodox, I know there aren’t a ton of us up in New England, are there services available for Orthodox Christians at OCS? Thank you!
I’m also orthodox, I go to a Greek parish. I’ll be at ocs in October, and I plan on going as many sundays as they’ll let me.

They are required to let you attend religious services. I don’t remember if they had an orthodox service regularly, but I highly recommend going to services anyway. It’s the only place where you are “out of sight” of class team and people talk to you like a person. Also some services have good snacks. The LDS service always had the best snacks by far for what it’s worth.

Do prior service members need to have a PRT on file for the current cycle before reporting to OCS? I class up in October and unsure if the PT test there will be reflected for cycle 2. I dont want to have a missing pt cycle on my record.

Pretty sure the new standard is your waist measurement in inches divided by your height in inches, if the number is below .55 then you’re good. Not sure when they tape during OCS, but they should tape you before you ship most likely.

How is taping with the new standards? And what day of OCS do they tape you (Day 1, Day 2, etc)?
You can download the Official Navy PFA app on your iPhone and see how you’ll stand. The new tape regs changed in December last year. It’s just a waist measurement now instead of the waist and neck measurements they did before. Make sure you are below 26% body fat with room to spare before shipping. If you fail tape you will roll.

Like what was said before, the app is the way to see. There’s a step 1 and 2. If you fail height to weight ratio then as long as you’re at or below 26 you will be good. Have some wiggle room however and keep working out prior to heading out.
