There’s definitely posts more recent than 2007 here…
The ones I'm seeing regarding this topic recently are people married/with dependents, and I can't search the term "bah" on the forum because it's too short.

Google searches for this issue point me to a post from 2007 with the most recent update in 2016 and the source link is no longer valid.

Navy admin is never straight forward so I'd like to make sure my ducks are in a row months in advance, just in case.

thank you!!! I need to filter my keywords better. I appreciate your help

So I just wanted to clarify a few things after reading a few responses about it. My question is about absentee ballots while at OCS.
1. Do you receive your class # before reaching OCS?
2. If yes, then I obviously can set up the mailing address easily before arriving, but if no, is there a time or something of the sort where the Class Team allows people to do what their state requires to request an absentee ballot?

Do you have a family member who can complete your ballot on your behalf?

Looking at it, there's early voting, but it starts after I have to arrive at OCS. Looking at how the cookie is crumbling, a mail-in ballot is looking like the best option.
I was at OCS in November 2024 during the last election. A few weeks before during pass down they had everyone who wanted to vote fill out the absentee ballet request with your home address and everything and we got sent our ballets. It was pretty straightforward. I wouldn’t worry too much.

Got the call yesterday, selected for Student Naval Aviator! I’m Serbian Orthodox, I know there aren’t a ton of us up in New England, are there services available for Orthodox Christians at OCS? Thank you!

According to Google, they do. Don’t know if it’s specifically what you’re looking for in terms of service, but it’s listed underneath services provided on the chapel on base.

The Navy OCS FAQ also has this:

“Special religious accommodations should be requested on the first day of training or communicated to the class team via email before arrival. OTCN will do its best to accommodate these needs without compromising training.”

Someone told me that I could request to go to an off base service if they didn’t have the one I wanted - don’t know how true that stands still but I’m planning on asking my OHARP officer on Monday and I’ll let ya know.

Can confirm there’s a Greek Orthodox Church in town (a short ways off post) that you can attend during their weekend service while in training (at least, OTCN was letting folks go when I was there). If the Chapel of Hope doesn’t hold a service for your particular faith, you can route an off-post service request through your Class Team. If it’s approved, the Squadron’s Religious Services Officer (RSO) will coordinate your transportation to/from a nearby service if it’s available.

Cards on the table, you and the rest of your class probably won’t be able to attend services the weekend of your arrival (your in-processing schedule’s gonna be nuts), but every weekend thereafter you should be afforded the opportunity to go.
