sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

Haha yeah, you're right, it does sound silly. You can't say it like that
Im not a SWO so hopefully someone fresher out of OCS can chime in.

But for my class, our SWOs got their ship selection options a day or 2 in advance. They all got together and pragmatically talked about where/why they wanted to go to those ships/locations. They had it mostly figured it out amongst themselves before the official « selection day ».

I wasn’t in the room for this, but as I gathered, it was mostly people agreeing to leave certain ships for those with families. Then it was an open forum trying to sort the rest per their preferences.

I assume the candidates with families mostly preferred stateside ships over international ones?

It’s gonna depend class to class.
Most of ours were prior enlisted who had homes and school aged children at the duty station they just came from. They were trying to get ships back in those spots as to not shuffle their families.

I am ISEL for cw, went to meps september 2025, just had to do fingerprints again in feb 2026. Still waiting on OCS date. Anyone else in a situation like this? is it normal?

I also went to MEPS in September 25 but I have a ship date of August 26 and haven't heard about needing to redo my fingerprints

Hell I’d assumed that when you heard back from the OCM that your application was accepted that you received an OCS date. Is that not how that works?

Also
Submitted my ISEL package in late November, found out in early January for NFO
I guess that means that if I hear back about my package submitted in late February that I may not be going to OCS until November-December

My TRIAD notified me not the OCM. Unsure if his the person that will tell me a class date or not

Can anyone share their experiences for ISEL SNA regarding their timeline from submitting a package to hearing back an OCS date and what their dates are?

My package is ready to submit, but with the PRT changing to 2 a year again. I now have a PRT scheduled for next month. Is there a rule for not being able to submit your package 60-90 days away from a PRT? I feel like I've read something like that, but I'm having a hard time remembering.

I take it you’re currently active?
