I’m hearing rumors that many boards are closed now for this FY. I’m applying for SWO but I’m hearing that SWO and other designators are getting pushed back until FY27, anyone have any insight?

I’ve heard from other groups that applicants who’d applied in September, November were getting dates in May. It’s just anecdotal, but may be a sign of some hope

Check out the specific SWO board forums, particularly the most recent one. That will have the most up to date info.

For SWO, the March Board has been cancelled, but the one in May is still scheduled to meet.

As others have said, it’s very variable. As a general rule the Marines care more about PT - my RLP was basically just a gunnery sergeant PTing me until I nearly puked and asking like 5 Bravo questions, whereas some others were asked in-depth questions throughout. Don’t expect a break, but also at the end of the day it’s like 8 minutes, you won’t need one.

• Push-ups to start
• Eight-count body builders -> General Orders 1 - 5
• Hop and pops -> Navy enlisted ranks (E-1 - E-8)
• Side-straddle hops -> Navy enlisted cont. (E-9), Navy officer ranks (O-1 - O-7), Marine enlisted ranks (E-1 - E-7)

Have you heard of someone having an RLP like that?

You're thinking about this way too hard. A chief or DI is going to be screaming at you, you're going to scream back bravo answers while doing some PT. It really is that simple. If you have your knowledge down and don't auto fail your chances of passing are very high.

Yes, thank you. Just got done "loudly exclaiming" pretty much all of Bravo while running 5 miles. Confidence is higher. Thanks to all who responded to my Bravo/RLP questions!

I also think you’re overthinking it a little. They’re not going to be expecting you to grind out 100 perfect push-ups and recite the entire knowledge packet. They’re going to do some dumb stuff like making you switch between push-ups and jumping jacks 10 times so fast you don’t even do one of them, and asking you questions before immediately making you switch exercises so you interrupt yourself. The only way you can prepare is by being physically fit and actually knowing the whole of Bravo verbatim.
