Looking for a back seat spot:

BS in Aerospace Studies - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
G.P.A. - 2.4
ASTB - 5/6/6 50 taken 3/22/06
50+ hours of flight time
LOR's - 3 college prof, 1 Navy Chief, 1 Marine Master Gunny, Boeing Exec.
Age: 27

Hard to believe, but took the ASTB 3 times and did better each time. Yeah scores were actually lower! Worked more then full time just to attend and stay in college. Going to take my PFT very soon. Should max out in everything. In great shape! I know my application is a longshot, but hey this has always been my dream, cant stop now!

Took first PFT with Marines today. 6/12/06
Overall 261
17 pullups
100 crunches
22:00 run

Hey there. I'm currently awaiting my board for either NFO/AMO as well. My first scores were 5,5,6 and 48. I was 8 years active, now in the Reserves trying to pick up my commission and go back active. 30 years old. AD2, used to be stationed in Lemoore, lol.

My recruiter told me that to be competitive for NFO my scores should be above 6 on the first three scores, and around 50-55 on the OAR. They told me it would be a little lower for AMDO, but still recommended that I retake the test to get above 50. The three single digit scores are what they'll look at the most for your AMO package. Those are the aviation part of the test, as where the double digit number is just the Officer Appitude Rating.

I would say study a little more and take the test again just in case. It's only a couple hours, but getting a 5-7 score is much better than your 4's.

Good luck.
