Spatial Apperception Error in the Movie Happy Gilmore

I'm watching it on USA right now. Happy and his homeless caddy are crouched, reading the slope of the green. The caddy proceeds to say that the ball will break left. Happy says, "No. That's because you've only got one shoe on." They then show that the caddy is missing his left sneaker. This would make the left side of the horizon higher, and the ball would curve to the right from his point of view. They messed up.

Anybody else ever notice this? Clearly the director had not taken the ASTB. Geesh.

You're wrong. Missing a left sneaker would make the right horizon higher. Therefore they were correct saying the ball would break left.

You're right that missing the left sneaker would be like tilting your head to the left. Doing that would make the left side of the horizon seem higher and the caddy would guess that the ball would go right. They had it backwards in the movie.

Wouldn't you feel like the right was higher, since your whole body was slightly lower on the left side? Or maybe if you were slanted to the left enough, you'd feel the gravity pulling you to the left side...
