How much is the byplane? That is another plane I have always wanted to jump from.
Being flipped upside down and dropped while hanging onto the top wing would be an awesome picture.

The jump from the Pitts was like 59, the acrobatic ride was an extra 20, and the pics were 55. It is great! They have a motor-driven cammera that shoots a whole role of film in about 8 seconds. It starts as the plane begins to roll, and right before it is out, the pilot gives you the signal to let go, and the cammera catches you as you let go.

As soon as I can figure out how to rip single frames out of this DVD my friend burned me of his footage, I'll post some great pics from the convention.

You gotta do them for your B or C license... or was that just "training" for water landings- something like that.

Your instructor must have meant high-tension power line landings were bad juju... Those will leave a mark.

I think you used to have to do a water landing for your D license, but it is only water TRAINING to get your B. We did water training in my college pool... kinda cool. We have a former Golden Knight as our S&TA. He is an awesome guy and did the training for free.

I have a great story about power lines.... We had this guy, now named sparky, in our college skydiving club. We went to the South East Collegiate boogie in Williston Florida a few years ago. He was using rental equipment and he picked up a rig with a Manta 380 in it. The so called "big boy" rig... Now that is a TANDEM canopy that they used for extremely large people... he thought it was like a 270.

With the little bit of wind we had that day, and his low wing loading, he was getting blown backwards, he landed about 2 miles off and hit power lines coming down. The main caught fire, lucky he didn't get shocked. He was smart enough to disconnect his RSL and cut away and run. He started a 4 acre brush fire. I only saw the smoke when I was under canopy, but it was hillarious. The DZO was the greatest and she didn't get mad.

I always amazes me how easygoing DZO's can be- not in terms of safety, but in regards to "oopsies!"

Sorry I just destroyed your expensive rig, burned down the forrest, leveled your hangar.... and they smile! Crazy!

Vette, how much beer did your friend owe for that one?????????

Well, realistically, he owed a lot. But it was a sizeable boogie and we had about 8 kegs every night, so a few cases of beer wouldn't have been noticed.

Question for everyone:
What is your favorite jump aircraft?

I personally like the CASA the best, though you can only find one at a boogie.

only jumped out of the c-182 so far, that's all they've got here. It's a small dz and I'm still holding on to the struts and then release anyways. Was going to go jump this weekend but felt horrible so decided against it. This weekend however I will be 6 more jumps closer to my license.

fc2spyguy,

Have you seen the pictures of people hanging upside down with their feet holding them onto the wing of a C182? They hang upside down like a bat and then release themselves (the feet are in front of the wing and they just point their toes to release). If I can find the pictures again, I will post them.... really cool exit.

My favorite plane so far is the otter. My best jump was from a Help, but as far as plane goes I love the otter.

cool, except that one guy w/ the deployed canopy, that's just plain stupid, i'm sure he'll be showing up on the darwin pages soon if he keeps that up.

I meant to say the guy w/ the deployed canopy and hanging onto his rig with just one hand.

Manny, check out www.dropzone.com for a listing in your state. They have a pretty big list with all the dropzones in each state.

That guy is in Good Stuff. He isn't just hanging on by 1 hand. He actually has something like a tandem harness that is connecting him. If you look close enough on the video, you can see it. After deployment he unhooks it and starts playing around.

I dont know if you guys have seen the video, but at World Freefall Convention I saw a Mr. Bill landed. It was crazy. I was walking out to the loading area, and hear them screaming. Look up, a guy is standing on the other guys shoulder. He drops off at like 15 feet, rolls when he hits the ground and the canopy pilot flares for a hard landing.
