Just like the NACES seat in an F-14D... 90 degree and uncomfortable. Try that for 7+ hours over Iraq.

The NACES is the only ejection seat I've flown with, but I don't think it's that bad. I know the S-3 guys say it's way better than their seat. Of course, anymore than 1.5 hours in the seat and the a$$ just starts to hurt.

Actually, and this is technique, you won't find this in NATOPS, if you drop a bomb in the flt station but immediately start walking back, pausing briefly (not breaking stride though) at the NAV/TACCO station, you can suck it along with you, leaving most of it there. If you're at NASNI and you've eaten Del Scorcho after a heavy night of adult beverages, you can even hit all the sensor stations. Those are really special days.

Dpn't forget "crop dusting"!!! When either arriving or departing the flight station, "loiter" next to the Nav and TACCO, and drop a present for them. And then quickly be on your way.... "its the simple things" that help bring about quality CRM :D
The tube rate corollary was: unless the tactical situation prevents it, always go to the flight station to fart.

At night, we just used to unsnap the curtain a little and stick our butts in. This way we gave you guys our best in an enclosed environment without having to smell it ourselves....:D

One night flight, we had an AO who took a dump. Instead of throwing the bag away, he stuck it in the flight station using a fart as cover. He had poked a few small holes in the bag to allow the aroma to circulate. It took them a while to figure out there was much more than an air burst lingering around....

Its a proven fact that farts reek more when filtered through an old seat cushion that has seen years of sweat, dirt and other farts.

Did I mention that my TACCO is female? She LOVES it when I do that.
I had a female Nav. Her farts reeked more than any guy in the crew. We attributed it to having to go by the fish market on its way into the seat cushion... :D

I bought the 2" cushion base and it's pretty good. I'm 6'3" 170lbs and I have plenty of seat & knee room with the 2" version in the T-34. There is still about 3-4" of seat adjustment room also. It doesn't relieve 100% of the pain, but it helps. It doesn't slip or slide off the seat, and it doesn't retain much more heat than the regular seat. It cost me about $140 for everything including shipping. It is high quality material/stitching, and there is a carry handle. I bought the black and I'm very happy with the color choice. The foam that is used for the cushioning is very durable and I believe the 1" version would be enough to support someone of a similar weight (or less). I've seen other cushions around VT-3, but they don't seem to have nearly as much padding... though I haven't tested them out.

Just FYI, some of the squadrons have Oregon Aero seat cushions you can check out while you're there. Saves you the $140 and you just need to turn it in when you complete.

This way, you can combine your gasses with the gasses of those who have gone before you. Its a beautiful picture.

For those of us who have yet to reach the fleet, you can still achieve the dutch oven. The T-34 sim cushions are specially designed to absorb ass aroma, then release a small amount every time you move. Not to pick on the italians, but some of those guys have stanky butt.
