Try the outside bar at the golf course ... you'll like the "view" or at least the atmosphere. Do it during Pro-Bowl week and see the "Pros" ... as 90% of them stay at the Marriott @ Ko'Olina. It's amazing how many of THOSE guys think aviators are ... "cool".

Roy's (two-story pictured adjoining the clubhouse) --- right on the water .... man-made pond, that is. ... then go over to JW Marriott and cap the evening off at the pool bar (check my avatar) or the Hokulea Bar upstairs .... mo' bettah than Waikiki ...

I dont know if its texture or just my lack of taste for less then air temprature foods but Ive never been able to really get behind sushi and Ive had multiple good examples from various places.

Now a good fish fry is a totally differnt story. Living within 30 minutes of a coast line for the Majority of my life has deffinately refined my taste in Ocean Sea Food. Im repeatedly amazed at how people in Cleveland seem to think that Perch is the greatest Sea Food ever because they have never experianced a good Blackend Grouper or a Pacific Salmon in a lemon and burbon glaze.

The only other thing that is absolutely a must whenever I move somewhere is finding out the best Ethnic Italian resturant in an hours drive and making it my buisness to try it out. Valerios in Cleveland's Little Italy is probably the best Ive eaten since actually living in San Vito Italy.

Let me preface this with saying I'm a food snob. If you pay closer attention, you'll be amazed at what people think is good food. Sometimes it is because they don't have any other choices, or have never tasted anything better because of where they live, etc. Sometimes it's lack of interest, or lack of trying. Sometimes they're just morons.

You can ingest salmonella and not get sick, in fact many healthy people will not be affected by it. Usually those who end up in the hospital are young, old, or those with suppressed immune systems.

So true. We had a jar of the stuff with the correct numbers on it to be 'infested'. We had already had half of the thing with no ill effects ... my wife wont eat anymore of it ... hell, more for me

What do you expect though? There's only so much any company can do. Someone somewhere gets sick, and for whatever reason it's attributed to the Skippy. A recall by lot is probably the only viable thing they can do, even though, more often than not, it's an isolated incident. From my days working in restaurants and the various hoops we had to jump through for the Health Dept, I would say the chances of food becoming contaminated in the home are much more likely than contamination during the manufacturing process, and we all know that everyone in our society wants to point their fingers at everyone but themselves. At any rate, we're very lucky in this country to have as safe a food supply as we do, so I guess it bugs me a bit when people get hysterical over this stuff. /endrant

That place was the bomb. There's a place here in SD kind of like that - Pt. Loma Seafoods - where I get most of my fresh fish. They do great lunch fare as well. Pretty much any kind of seafood you can think of - multiple kinds of tuna and salmon as well as all manner of shellfish.
