None y'all fans? Championships today. Strega won Unlimited...first time in a while for them.

Jon Sharp won Super-Sport...again. Nemesis NXT is an amazing airplane, and Jon is a good guy. Sure wish Darryl Greenamyer could get Race33 back to flying well. Sure was awesome watching a Legacy win all those years in a row.

The guy I worked for all through college, Nick Macy, won his 5th championship in the T-6 class...said that SixCat's never run better than this year.

Anybody go? Gonna try and plan on it for next year...I missed not getting there this year.

I helped build Kevin Eldredge's NXT. His was the second to ever race at Reno and he even acquired a license from Sharp to manufacture and sell the kits for a little while. It was a great experience!

Kevin's plane is sweet! I was so sad when he had to put her down that first year, but so glad when he decided to fix it and get her back in the air. Kevin's a great guy too...spent quite a bit of time chatting with him and my former boss when I worked at Lancair.

I have a Cassutt racer in my shop (my wife would say it's supposed to be a garage) that we're trying to get ready to race at Reno next year. Here's a picture of her before we took her down to the airframe for a rebuild.

Right on, man. Feels like a small world. I worked for Kevin for years and he was a pretty big mentor to me. I fell out of touch with him, his family and the Air Races when I left to pursue my commission, but I definately miss it. Lancair makes a simply amazing aircraft. You look at guys like Greenemyer who really show what kind of performance a Lancair is capable of.

I know! Where else can you fly 230+ mph, 40 feet off the deck, and not get an FAA violation!!

If it looks like we'll have her ready I have to go to pylon school in June at Reno, then it's off to the races.

My biggest worry would be some other moron running into me.

When flying with military dudes, you at least know that you have a common basis of training. This is especially applicable when flying close to one another or close to the ground.

Unfortunately, you have no idea what the training and skills of the other guys running the pylons with you.

PRS has gone a long way over the last decade to establish and maintain a baseline of experience and training, but that's a long way from really being able to completely trust all the other people you're flying with.

According to what I've read +/- 8 g's, ultimate 12 g's.

I was there Thursday until today. We were dialed in, and had all-access VIP passes. I think I aged about 5 years, but loved every minute of it. To comment on some posts above:
- Stevo is only 22 years old. Can you believe that? 400+ hours in Mustangs already.
- As for flying low, my bud was crewing for a guy who was DQ'd for flying TOO low. Didn't know that would happen.
- Agree with Hacker: I've flown formation with guys that went through PRS. A UPT grad will be better than many of these novices. The question is "are they good enough?" RARA says yes. My wife says no, so I won't be racing any time soon.
- Jon Sharp also built a large wing cuff for a U-2 that was giving us handling problems. Talented guy.
