Does anyone know the procedure for a Release from Active Duty? The NAVADMINs seem to be purposely circular.
Here's the story.
Fleet Aviator (800 hrs) FNAEB'd and redesignated a 1300 (General Aviation).
At the time they separated all the flight school attrites but since I was already winged and in the navy for more than five years they could not separate me.
I am still obligated to serve my 8 year commitment.
1300 is not a career path and I am not eligible for promotion to O4. I will have be in zone two times before my obligation is up.
I am reluctant to contact my detailer at this point because they are tasking guys to go to Iraq and be on the IED task force.
I am pretty much stuck as far as the career goes. I would consider lat transfer to AEDO (if the 1300 is not a show stopper) but they are looking for O4's (which I can't be).
My next option is to get out.
