Nope, not sarcastic. What I was told by one of the N7 bros is that it was the result of a deal struck between the Marine and Navy staff members (I assume many years ago). The Marines could get away with wearing the sky blue t-shirts if everyone wore black boots. Not sure if we have any former N7 dudes on the forum who can clarify.
You probably didn't notice it because it's just an N7 thing and they don't typically instruct Airwing events (the most recent N7A being a notable exception).
That sounds dumb enough to be true.
Yes. But we all wear brown boots now. Except for them I guessNot being a Patch-wearer, I didn't want to say it, but yeah, I was thinking the same thing... to which my next question is: "are Marines are assigned to the TOPGUN staff? Are they still?"
That sounds dumb enough to be true.
Marines synching up and wearing red shirts at a certain time of the month, sounds legit?Dumb enough it was even a discussion to begin with... As some Marine squadrons wear red or black undershirts with matching squadron patches during certain days of the month.
No one indeed. Been carried as a pax twice, needed to empty half-liter of vodka each time to stay warm. Older An-12 is way more comfortable...But who likes Il-76s?
