I've never understood why we feel the need to dwell in antiquity. As is stated above, in this day and age, it's ridiculous. For my PPC I had to do all my planning for checkrides and such from weather reports that printed out of a machine that honestly had a PCLOADLETTER malfunction while printing my report once. I could do that and spend a few hours planning, or check out adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov and get it all done in fifteen minutes.
