Re: former Pres. Clinton

He bowls overhand.
I disagree - this was a well executed political maneuver by the administration, that will have significant political benefits to the democratic party, and most importantly to Mr. Clinton's future as a power broker. Two major goals were accomplished, most importantly we rescued two American citizens from 12 years of tortuous imprisonment in the infamous Kwan li sow's, secondly we denied the North Koreans the legitimacy of meeting directly with the president; a president who is more than willing to sit down with cambridge cops and professors but will snub a tyrant acting out. Not to mention we were able to get people past the bamboo curtain to directly evaluate the health of the DPRK regime's leader.

Although I disagree with the POTUS on many things he has perfected the art of speaking with ones enemies, without speaking with his enemies.
I agree with you there. By "no one" I meant "no one on the international scale," ie, the world isn't going to think we're a gigantic bearded clam and start WWIII with us anytime soon.

I agree that peacefully negotiating the release of two American journalists is a huge victory for the administration.

So we only rescue the "intelligent" hostages? Everyone else is just fucked?

Is "hostage" really the right word here?

One thing is for sure, these girls were stupid, and they were doing something illegal in foreign country. When you break the laws of the country that you are in, you should expect to be arrested and punished according to their laws. That is what we do to foreign nationals that break American laws when they are on our soil. Are those people "hostages"?

If you pass out bibles in Iran, you are probably going to jail. If you try to exercise a free press in North Korea, you are probably going to jail. If you lead a political rally in China, you are probably going to jail. A lot of Americans simply don't understand that our laws and rights end at the extent of our borders. Some, like these girls, are lucky to have the political connections to get them off the hook. Many others are in jail around the world because they made the same mistake. Hell, there is a Marine in jail in Mexico because he missed his exit and ended up driving into Mexico with empty pistol magazines and body armor in his trunk. He is not a "hostage", but he was not making a movie for the former Vice President at the time of his arrest either.

Exactly. It's disputable whether or not they were in North Korean territory, but that really just meant the difference between being deported by the Chinese or locked up by the North Koreans.

They were trying to film North Korean refugees near the border; they took risks, and the Norks tried to stop them. Not stupid, and yet not hostages.

These were journalists doing real journalism - not the gossip that is seen so regularly on tv... Where they aware of the risks? Most likely yes. Does that excuse the North Korean gov't from abducting them for trying to expose the horrible conditions the people of North Korea face?

These are the journalists we as citizens should be applauding... not denigrating.

Right.

And Muslim men here in the states beating their wives for disobeying them are just practicing their religion.

Look, I am glad that they are home with their family, but I have not an ounce of sympathy for their "ordeal". They took a risk, a stupid risk, and it bit them in the ass. Now they get to sign a book deal and make a million dollars off of it. :sleep_125

Here's the bottom line deal-io for me ...

I don't 'care' whether or not the ladies were workin' for AGore ...
the same AGore that caused me a low fuel divert @ O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-saka many years ago ... or what the ladies may have/may not have 'done wrong' to get them incarcerated in the first place.

I don't 'care' whether or not the ladies were 'rescued' by Bill Clinton ... a man whom I have ZERO respect for ...

The NK's were/are assholes .... always have been; always will be until the puppet regime implodes, if ever ... and as the ladies would NEVER have done '12 years hard labor' 'cause they were ALWAYS a bargaining chip as understood by and used by the Dear Leader ...

Clinton
brought 'em home ... bully for Bill ... too bad for Hillary, probably an emasculating experience for her (emasculatining = normally used in the 'male' sense, but she IS the SecState, isn't she??) ... (and he didn't 'do it' as a 'private' citizen -- if you think so, you're devastatingly naive ... which is EVIAN spelled backwards) :)

NO ONE in the universe has any more 'respect' for Kimmy-Jung than they did yesterday ...

We 'won' ... Bill Clinton's an American and so are the ladies ... Kimmy's still a fucked up individual -- and he knows it --
and it really pisses him off ... so what else is the question ... ???

I should know; but I just don't remember ... or probably 'care' in the greater scheme of things ... :sleep_125

So we only rescue the "intelligent" hostages? Everyone else is just fucked? I guess we'll also make you the ultimate arbiter of hostage intelligence as well.

You are a moron.

Brett

Name calling now Dickless, that's Mr Moron to you sonny. Now you hurt my feelings real bad. These two asswipes fucked with the bigdog and got bit. It's nice they got rescued by Bubba but excuse me if I don't wake up from my nap in jubilant celebration for the event.

Let's hope they had a Obamma Learning Moment here and don't repeat their stupidity.

Yours Truly,

Mr. Moron

Big Bill's Plane ride to N. Korea

Bubba rode on a plane owned by Steve Bing (Shangri La Entertainment LLC)one of his LARGE contributors to the Bill Clinton Foundation. Its a Boeing 737 as you well know. Is Bing and Bubba in cahoots with the porn industry? Anyway... I've been trying to ascertain whether or not Bubba had a mock-up of the desk in the oval office on board the aircraft with him. You know... Bubba never turns down an opportunity to 'counsel' two young damsels in distress!

Well I'll be darned if that isn't a silly thing to say.

You really believe this was a dashing move made by Obama?

Oh yes, he'll snub tyrants acting out. The way he handled Ahmadinejad after the Iranian elections shows that he has absolutely no qualms with putting them in their place.

Classy.

I know there was a lot of virtual ass in Beowulf (financed by Bing), but it's hardly a porn flick. They seem to be on the up and up.

Here we go again ... this thread has now officially gone 'political' ... :D

The 20% of AirWarriors who support one side always can be counted upon to support one side ... the other 80% can always be counted upon to support the 'other' side ... it seems to be the default response in the good ol' USA today ... one side or the other ... nothing bringing us together.

Let's shut it down before any more personal 'feelings' get involved and wait until @ 2 months before the next general election to fire it up again.
