Applying for Navy OCS/SWO and wanted to ask specifically about a marijuana waiver.
Hard stats: 23M, 2.8 GPA, 59 OAR, kinesiology degree, 6 years at Chick-fil-A with management/leadership experience.
completed MEPS - I have no medical waivers
I disclosed past recreational marijuana use — no more than 30 times total over 7 years. I saw him write the waiver and thats exactly what he wrote. Last use was October 2025, so it will have been about a year by the November 2nd 2026 board. I’ve been completely upfront about it, and my recruiter says I’ll need a waiver but is confident about it.
For anyone familiar with Navy OCS/SWO, how much of a concern would this type of marijuana history/waiver be for an applicant with these stats?
Im extremely nervous and stressed about the wait till i find out lol.
