It ends up costing $3 more for electronic. While it costs I believe $42 to get it done, it cost $39 more when you have the state do your prints vice the county.

A hunting safety course from any state also meets the requirements. I mailed them a copy of my PA hunters safety card.

Another thing that I have to get done is the notarization. According to a Florida govt website I read, any military officer can act as a notary for that. Anyone with experience?

Go see the Admin officer. I believe that LCDR and above can do it, as well as designated Admin officers.

I have Bug notarize most everything I need.

I just did a search under "Pensacola Notary" and found out that the legal office on the base can take care of that sort of thing. FYI for other A Poolers down here who need something notarized.

Yeah...legal offices always have at least one notary...at least in my experience. Cool benefit...saves like 5$ a pop.

Most cities offer free notary service somewhere.

If you are out in Milton, walk into the same building where you pay your water/sewer bill. I made use of this service and it cost me $0. Also, many banks offer free notary if you are a member. I'm not sure if PenAir or Navy Fed do, but it might be a good idea to ask.

Like Master said, just go to your command's admin office. They'll have a notary in there.

Yes make a copy of your military id, if you are an officer then you have pistol qual experience. If you are enlisted you have rifle experience. The law states, you need some type of firearms safety/program. Hell, hunter safety card works. I used my old ragged hunters safety card from a different state for my florida ccw permit before i got into the Navy

I'm an officer and I don't have pistol qual experience. But I do have rifle qual experience. You were saying.....

I did not do either until I was a LTJG. Just being commissioned does not get the pistol qual. Maybe in other services it is a requirement. But not in the Navy, it is not a requirement.
