I just moved down here and I was just curious about any good places to go hang out on the weekends. I had been told good things about UWF but i've been told now that its not all that...what gives?? Anyway, give me some recommendations.

McGuires is one of the most popular places to eat. Flounders is on the beach, and has some cool stuff goin on during beach season (roughly March - Sept). Seville is a cool place with 8 bars/clubs, including a dance club, piano bar, several live bands, and occassional karaoke (MATSG should give you a member's card to void the cover charge). There are many community events downtown in the summer. Several other music clubs in a 50 mile radius; listen to the radio for events.

If you're used to the college scene, be prepared for a sobering wakeup call.

McGuire's is a good time, good food, booze, etc... but frankly its no Phyrst (Irish pub in State College full of good looking girls and free booze... at least that's how *I* remember it).

Seville is alright... but you face the 10:1 dude:hot girl ratio in a lot of places in this town. Also they apparently let marines in. (I kid, I kid...)

I've been told to get in touch with reality and adapt... but frankly cougar hunting every weekend and/or hooking up with the same chicks as 20 other O-1s is not in my gameplan.

There are worse places to live. You will discover them soon enough. Enjoy Pensacola.

Allegedly...

I may be a bit sarcastic tonight but P'Cola isn't all that bad compared to what I hear about potential future duty stations. I bow to your wisdom on the subject.

I was just in El Centro, and I think we all know how painful that can be.

Pick up a copy of Pensacola Indepentent News, it says IN real big on the front, and you can find them at just about any restaraunt or grocery store. It'll have a fairly comprehensive list of what's going on that week and weekend. There's really a lot of stuff to do if you know where to look.
