Meh, the only thing I'm in a hurry for is getting an OCS date. I just want to skip the whole part where I need to submit this package for three airtight FY13 boards and chew on my fingers while I wait. Sounds pretty good to me
As for shipboard duties—I've heard non-PAO officers get stuck with public affairs stuff. That'd be right up my alley for collateral duties. I'm a PR major and that's the field I'd be pursuing if I didn't feel like getting the eff away from offices and into a more exciting career path. But all eyes on OCS right now.And let's be serious. Anyone who can't appreciate a fine shaft is lying. Or insecure.

That's the vibe I get from everyone I've heard from that got shafted with PAO stuff
PAO was the first billet that attracted me to the military, but then I realized I didn't want to sit in an office and do that kind of crap all day, and that I really wanted to do something more interesting (my confidence was boosted when I found out getting a PAO slot is like winning the lotto twice).
