Reason(s) to Get an Officers Saber
1. The Airforce doesnt have them and never will
..... come to think of it, yeah thats enough reasons right there. Let them sit around and sulk in their Bus Driver Blues at how much cooler your uniform is then theirs.
It was a really really, really bad day as a Candio at AOCS....(here's a blast from the Air Warriors past):I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if you have to resort to swordfighting (and just happen to be in your dress uniform), you're having a really, really, really bad day - especially if you're a Sailor.Brett
We had the living crap PT'd out of us in the black hole in our brand new Navy twill khakis 3 days before commissioning. I haven't really like swords ever since.........when we started sword fighting in front of the battalion building as candidate officers during rehearsal for commissioning......
Seems like a good way to F-up an expensive sword.Heh... My company and platoon commanders decided to start swordfightin one night during my Plebe Summer... funny stuff. My PC actaully got stabbed in the leg. Nothing a band-aid couldn't fix, but funny none-the-less.
Yep, no dice. I had intended for nearly a year to order one from them specifically, but they are in fact out of the sword biz. Too bad. Wonder where the Brit military is going to get their swords now...If you're willing to shell out 1G for a Wilkinson Sword. Of the three major makers of military swords that I know of, Wilkinson is the best... best blade, most comfortable hilt, and its not made of cheap plastic. Its the heaviest sword, but its a good investment. (My sword is a Wilkinson)
For y'all Marines out there, this is the first year that the Marines has authorized Wilkinson swords.
Like I said... expensive, but worth the investment.

Can't believe it . . . will have to look for someone who knows what they are doing if I ever have problems w/ mine, as now I can't send it back to the manufacturer. Got mine from them specifically because they made a real sharkskin grip, not the plastic crap that everyone uses now (even WKC). Meant to tour the factory if I was ever in Merry Olde England. I guess they make more money selling razors. Too bad.Yep, no dice. I had intended for nearly a year to order one from them specifically, but they are in fact out of the sword biz. Too bad.
