I had the same timeframe as Spot. (Scuttlebutt = 6 month BOOST got the axe, however take it for what it's worth.) Might ask someone who has gone through a little more recently for info wrt 6 month BOOST.

I think some of the green spots on my pt gear are still in loving memory of the geese up there :(

Haha, gotta love New England wild life! I'm from Massachusetts, born and raised on the South Shore, so I know all about what you guys are talking about! :D

Here is a dirty little secret that applied to the FY05 STA-21 applicants:

Everyone that did not go to boost got their NSI start date a few weeks before the BOOST people did.

I was a BOOST'er and I received my start date about 2 weeks after my NSI friends did.

So, if your start date didn't show up on the STA-21 page when everyone else's did, then it was a fact that you were going to BOOST.

I did a 3 month and reported feb 19 2005

Congrats guys..

Boost is 3 months and begins in Feb. There is also an NSI class that starts in Feb and graduates late April. April NSI graduates begin school during the summer semester. Next NSI class begins in May and ends in July, Boosters will join the May NSI class upon completion of BOOST. July NSI graduates begin school in the fall. A little advice for those going to NSI/BOOST.
1. Bring your POV.
2. Bring a warm blanket, some of those rooms DO NOT have a heater.
3. Boosters stay away from Dean Miller, trust me.
4. Dont get to wasted at the St. Patricks Day Parade in New Port.
5. Enjoy! R.I. and Mass. are a blast, best 6 months of my Navy career.

New England winters are friggin brutal most years so this is definitely good advice, especially for those of you from the south I hope you know how to drive in snow, otherwise I'd suggest staying off the road during/after a snow storm up there!!

Very true!! I'm pumped that we go there for atleast 8 weeks because my younger brother is in his 3rd year at R.I. School of Design so I'll get to spend time with him! :D
