Why don't they ever demo the pregnant chick versions of any uniforms ... must be the uniform team's insensitivity ...

It might be just me but I don't like the caps, everytime I see those it reminds me of the person in the window of the nearest Krispy Creme donut shop.

The one thing I DO like is that women are given a fitted shirt. The marine woman's uniform is great - women look like women in them!

Maybe if the navy have fitted shirts and IF we enforced uniform fit standards (e.g. not sagging over your waist line, or women five inches shorter than me outweighing me by 30lbs) the navy could look as good as the marines do. And maybe pigs will go ice skating, anyting is possible.

I think its great that they are going to a year round working uniform. They will still have coveralls and dunga-jams, but for the admin types, I like both of those new uniforms. As long as you can still wear the white hat and the cracker jacks. That is tradition I never want to see gone. My father and grandfather both wore that uniform and someday maybe my son will too.

CATE, PropStop is right. You are the exception to the rule as far as Navy women go (and there are plenty of men out there like that too). It is time to enforce fitness standards and be serious about it. There is a dude at NRD Houston, not naming any names, that transfered into the NRD fat as hell. You are not allowed to transfer if you are out of standard, yet they let it happen. Not on my watch. I will never allow that.

Agreed. If you're in the military you should look like you're in the military, which unfortunately doesn't always happen in the Navy. Hopefully I'm not coming across as a chauvinist, but I've seen more females who look overweight than males. Granted some people will always be beefier/shaped different than others; we're not all bodybuilders or swimsuit models. But if you've got a belly hanging over your belt, that crosses the line. The Marines have it right in saying that even if you're an admin clerk, you're a warrior first. I don't care if a person is the best at what they do, if they're professional enough to do that, they should be professional enough to look sharp.

These are the dumbest things I have seen. The girl's uniform looks like a Marine's, and the guys looks like Air Force.

Pick a uniform that is unique to the NAVY. All of the enlisted Navy guys I have talked to thought the dungarees were comfortable. Male and Female Navy enlisted would wear them.

Whatever the brass picks for the new uniform, I just want it to be original and unique to the NAVY

The example on the left, is not blue. The shirt is grey and the pants black. The photo makes it look like it is that light USAF blue. Not so. Your choices are grey shirt or kahki shirt both with the same black pants. I like the winter blues with garrison cap. The dixie cup with winter blues and the whites looks absurd. The dixie cup goes with the jumper and no other uniform. I do support having the same service uniform for both seasons. You also get rid of the tie in all working spaces year round. If I had to pick I'd pick the Khaki version proposed.

The current Summer Whites and Winter Blues aren't that bad are they? Couldn't we spend our money on something else? Sure one uniform would be better than two, but seriously ...

contemplating applying again...
summer working whites suck to keep clean...

i'd much rather they funnel any money from TFU and the implementation of new uniforms to the procurement of body armor and the acceleration of armored HUMVEE assembly/manufacturing. at this point in time i don't think we really need new uniforms... there are other much more important issues right now.

I think the old bell bottoms were comfy.

Until the laundry guys got hold of them and they shrunk two sizes too small (come on, how many pairs of 'high-waters' did you have?)
