The people that were "In the field" then are the people that are making the decisions now. Makes sense if you think about it. I dont run this Donkey Show I just work here.Sure. They are. A couple pictures from twenty years ago doesn't say much.

Fire protection. In his case, probably just trying it out. What's up with the guy doing the Mandarin collar thing in the first pic? Looks retarded. Why is the Navy insisting on going Army-style with the cammies with things like this, and the whole sleeve roll thing?
Depends on your Noble Eagle number. For people in-country Iraq and Afghanistan almost everyone wears ACU's except for people assigned to Navy-specific billets like NAVCENT FWD support. Almost everyone else gets to rock the old DCU's including those in the Deid, Kuwait and Bahrain, etc. Some people get remissioned though so you will still see Navy guys in those places with ACU's.Soooooo we wear army uniforms on IA? Even based out of the Deid?
A helluva a lot better than what they used to have at least. At least the Army has finally realized that ACU sucks. They should be in the new Multicam soon. Would be nice if we got a clue and went that route also.
Some informed speculation from someone who may be smarter than me.....these are being funded and developed by SOCOM for their Navy guys and the thinking is that Big Navy will come in and adopt them when they are finalized not having to pay for all the roll-out costs. Not sure if they are that significant and I am not sure the Navy is that smart but it seems like a good idea if that is true.So wait...the desert cammie uniform is not going away. But our snake eaters get their own unique desert digital cammie? Even though they'll probably continue to rightfully wear whatever the hell they want. Am I the only one who fails to see the logic here?
Who the fuck thinks this stuff up? Me and the three other stooges playing foosball in the wardroom could come up with a better process than this in the time it takes to hang five goals on each other.
Fuck. I thought it was only an ugly rumor about VP and foosball...Who the fuck thinks this stuff up? Me and the three other stooges playing foosball in the wardroom could come up with a better process than this in the time it takes to hang five goals on each other.
+1Why is the Navy doing this? We are the only service left without these types of uniforms to wear in the field and we have to rely on other services, or old uniforms, when we deploy to areas where these are needed. Part of it is PR, no one has a clue how many Navy people are downrange when they look around because they almost all look like Army guys and a lot of the higher ups want more visibility for IA/GSA's downrange including the new NAVCENT. And a lot of it is practical because the contract for DCU's runs out next spring and these would be a lot better than the DCU's. And I am pretty certain that unless you deploy downrange or to particular locations you aren't going to get these uniforms so it is not like the seabag is going to get any heavier.
What's wrong with foosball? Our wardrooms not big enough for a pool table, and you've gotta do something when you're waiting for the plane to come up.Fuck. I thought it was only an ugly rumor about VP and foosball...
Nothing wrong. I just suck at it. Royally. What's wrong with foosball? Our wardrooms not big enough for a pool table, and you've gotta do something when you're waiting for the plane to come up.
My foosball skills improved 100% during my first deployment, to Kef. The consesnus among the JOs was that foosball skills were most evident at the three beer level. Things went downhill rapidly after that. The Brass Nut was a happening place, until the front office shut it down for a week after a flag officer experienced an upside down Margarita. The O-7 loved it; the CO, not so much.Nothing wrong. I just suck at it. Royally.
In fact, I actually looked it up NECC only makes up approx 10% of Navy total manpower.Shitcan Aviation Working Greens: Check
