Navy embracing PRK at Naval Academy for Mids

They don't grind your cornea... They just sand off the epethelium (sp?), the little protective layer of skin the covers your eye.
 
No grinding or sanding. its Scraping!

They soften it with an alcohol solution then scrape it off with miniature Spatula/Scraper insturments... Its weird. Yes Im recovering quite nicely from surgery 2 weeks ago :icon_smil

Not to mention some seriously "good" drugs.
 
I declined the good stuff. I took some basic pain meds--Neurontin, and called it a day. They numbed my eyes, no xanex or valium, and went to work.
