Naval Aviator poser!

There's a guy at my church that says he's a Naval Aviator. But something about him doesn't jive. First of all he's really fat and secondly he's not that bright. I've talked to him about his naval career and what squadrons he's been with. He's worn his Khakis a few times and wears Aviator wings. Here's what he has claimed to have accomplished:

1) He graduated high school in 1996 and got his B.S. or (BFA) in photography from UCLA.
2) He was commissioned and left for flight school in P-cola right after graduation
3) He completed flight training in 1998 and was selected for F/A-18s
4) He went through F/A-18C flight training at VMFAT-101 and finished top of his class (also claims that 101 was a crappy squadron with no good instructors)
5) He went to VFA-25 to fly Hornets for two years.
6) Now he's a part time instructor pilot at VFA-125
7) Served as a Forward Air Controller during OIF 1
8) He's about 28 years old with the grade of LTJG going to LT in Sept
9) Says he has 2000 hours of flight time in the F/A-18C
(10) Works at Washington Mutual as a loan manager

Now I'm sure this guy is full of crap. What I'm trying to figure out is what doesn't fit. Would a 28 year old LTJG (would he still be an LTJG at 28) have 2000 of flight time? Would the Navy ask a pilot with two years of experience be an FRS instructor and a Forward Air Controller?

If you guys could help me find the "holes" in his story, I can at least confront him or report him to the Feds for impersonation of a military officer!

Thanks for the assistance!

Yeah I'm gonna call bullsh!t.

We have senior LTs with only 1000 hours. NO WAY he has 2000 AND a LTJG? HAHAHHAAHA

No. He's a fake.

LTJG RAG instructor? Give me a break.

If you're gonna lie about it, make a credible story. Morons.

I say blow him out of the water, get more info.

Not to mention that's one heck of an accomplishment killing a bachelors degree plus the entire strike pipeline in 2 years...I feel like kind of a sh!tbag taking 4 years just on the degree:icon_tong

Maybe that was a typo, but 2 years between high school and winging?! Man that'd be sick... But let's say he got winged in '98, don't you have to be active for 8 years after winging? I know it'd be 8 this year, but again... seems fishy.

1. 1996 HS grad = 2000 (maybe 1999 BS grad)
2. Graduation and immediate commission would require NROTC or OCS "right away"
3. Could not have completed flight training that quickly. Actually takes a couple of years. Seriously.
4. Doubt he'd know a crappy instructor if one threw a rock at him (although I suspect they'd all take turns so he could make a fair evaluation).
5. 1st sea tour for a JO is 3 years.
6. There are no "part-time instructors" (except a few reserve guys) - this ain't Carl's Jr. or Jack in the Box.
7. Um...in a word - no.
8. It's four years from commission to LT - no selection board required. Do the math.
9. I flew over Afghanistan in OEF and exceeded the monthly NATOPS restrictions on flight hours and required a waiver for 4 months. I don't even have 2000 hours in model yet even w/ a 2nd deployment after that.
10. Don't get a loan from Washington Mutual.

The good folks at NCIS might like to have a kind word with him. There's an office at Seal Beach and Port Hueneme. Spin the wheel, pick an office, give 'em a call. If nothing else, they'll be entertained.

I like Goober's idea.

There is a whole organization dedicated to blowing SEAL posers out of the water, sometimes bringing charges against them I believe. Do the same with this a$$hole.

Talking about NCIS...when I was a stashed Ensign at ERAU, a guy from Nigeria faxed the unit's XO a 7 page document on a very interesting topic. It was 7 handwritten pages with detailed drawings on how to build a thermonuclear bomb using cold fusion. We promptly forwarded it to NCIS. Apparently he was trying to prove how smart he was so nrotc and ERAU would accept him....
