I'm pretty annoyed at this. Last month I had decided to get rid of my SIG P320 stuff, so I ordered a V-series. In the time between ordering the G17V and it shipping, they've announced the Gen6The new Glock G6 is here....

Totally get the frustration with Glock on the V. I see a lot of LEO surplus Gen 5 on AimSurplus for very reasonable prices.I'm pretty annoyed at this. In other news, we have a nanny who lives with us. She's from Europe so had never touched a gun; I took her to the range yesterday and she had a great time. She loved my AR-15 with a .22LR conversion, didn't mind the 9mm pistol, and strong dislike for my HK45!
It's my fault for rushing twice, once to get out of the P320 and once to get into a Glock. I got burned both times!Totally get the frustration with Glock on the V. I see a lot of LEO surplus Gen 5 on AimSurplus for very reasonable prices.
That said, my daily driver is a plain jane 30 year old Gen 2 G17 with grip tape and night sights and it shoots great and is dirt reliable.
Glock definitely flubbed the Gen V/6 roll out. It's my fault for rushing twice, once to get out of the P320 and once to get into a Glock. I got burned both times!
That being said, what I really want is a Gen5 G34 MOS - but those are relatively hard to find.
I kept my P320 (never bought the “bad news” hype) by always assuming that if I shot at a bad guy and missed three times I could toss the pistol on the floor and at one of us would get out of the situation! It's my fault for rushing twice, once to get out of the P320
Keep your eye on aimsurplus.com - I am confident you will find one at a reasonable price as the 5" slide/barrel is now out of fashion in competitive shooting circles. That being said, what I really want is a Gen5 G34 MOS - but those are relatively hard to find.

Well done. The grain on the stock is beautiful. There is a good chance this rifle served in Korea. Get yourself a M1907 leather sling. Decent 30.06 M2 Ball is still available at reasonable prices. This rifle should be shot to be appreciated. I find hitting 20" steel plate at 300 yards relatively easy from a rest and it's a blast. Although I am only good for about 20 - 30 rounds before my shoulder has had enough. Finally picked up an M1. On the drive from Meridian to VA Beach, the CMP store was only a mile off the highway. On the website/mailorder, you can only get a 'reclaimed rifle' (which is a previously de-milled receiver that is put back into working condition), but in person you can still get an original one. However, they all have new stocks and barrels, the service grade rifles are all gone for now. This one is from March '44, who knows where it could have been over the years.
Here it is, along with the shirt that I wore last time I held one 35 years ago.
