Wifey wants to get (back) into shooting. Michigan culture is very much one of "just go to your friends land and shoot to your heart's desire." Not a whole lot of legit shooting clubs around here.

Does anyone have a decent 20 gauge pump action shotgun recommendation for a 5' 100lb woman?

I’d just grab a Mossberg 500. All purpose, plenty of parts availability, light recoil in 20ga, and inexpensive.

For a short barrel look at the Winchester Super X. For something along the hunting range I’d try a Mossberg 500.

Tactical or clay target sports gun?

Beretta A400 semi auto would be my choice. Great all around gun and the semi auto soaks up recoil.

So for her it's a little of both. Something she can get comfortable with sport shooting but is also lethal if she needs it on a night when I'm at work and the cops are 10 minutes away.

A Mossberg 505 might fit the bill. The barrel, at 20” is shorter than sport guns, but longer than most tactical shotguns. It strikes me as a good middle fit.

Before and after. Every time I try and embrace M-LOK I find how many compromises I have to make with it compared to a Pic rail. But it is lighter. Fair well, URX II.

AF SF types are notorious for tomfoolery with weapons. Junior enlisted on duty in isolated areas with little supervision and in mind numbing boredom conditions. The Base Defender MOS is not the most competitive either.

In the 1970's and 80's USMC sentries (gate guards) carried M1911 with lead seals on the slides with no magazine loaded. Magazines were in sealed plastic envelope in the magazine carrier.

Weird. I mean I guess it’s certainly better than troops paying out of pocket for their own weapon mods, so it’s cool they made that procurable through the supply system, but at the same time I’m not sure any of them are actually worth the time and hassle. Especially for a pistol.
