Anyone who says they "enjoyed" the Air Force way of training not only threw down a big 2 liter of the 'special' kool-aid, but also took the little purple pill that erased all of the bull**** from their memory.
 
I have to admit that I AM of a very small minority who actually admits to enjoying Air Force training and strongly believe that their training regimen and intensity actually prepared me well for advanced. Different people will have different opinions and I respect that. Sorry you guys didn't like it. Worked out pretty well for me though and for alot of others who did well and got what they wanted....:D....I don't wanna name any of those people here at TW-2 because I wouldn't want the rest of the Navy bashing myself and them for our opinion....LOL....
 
Why do you insist on making this an issue of people getting what they want? Do you really think my opinion, and the opinion of others is that petty?

Bold statement from an AF 1st LT. (you do know this is a Navy site...right?)I'm not a hater, I'm spitting the straight up truth. Hell, you can get used to eating a pile a **** if you've never had a steak before. I'm not saying you can't be conditioned to accept the "life." But you're only kidding yourself if you've experienced navy training vs. Air Force training, and like the later better.

And BTW T-37driver...I don't care what it is you selected or what your buddies selected, if you truely liked the Air Force training, thats fine, but do one thing for me...look at yourself in the mirror and tell me the T-45 world isn't 100% better than the Tweet world. Take the whole world in now, not just a little peice of it.
 
Uhhh, and you think the T-38 world isn't better than 37's/34's/6's? Primary (or phase 1) is called that for a reason. Yes, you're there to learn to fly - but you're still learning to be an officer as well. Marines have been officers for a while (relatively speaking) after going through OCS and TBS, so that's a bit different but still a lot of learning to do. Different people like different approaches to training, no biggie. But this hangup on the standup thing is comical at best. If you get your panties in that big a wad over having to stand at attention for around 3-5 minutes, you've got bigger issues. There's good about both and bad about both. Personally, I'm happy where I am at Whiting. And to be totally honest, some of the ways the Navy operates is downright scary after flying with the AF for damn near half of a career. But broad experience is good for any officer (or NCO for that matter) and whining about 12 hour days is ridiculous. So, you either study in a hole in your room at home for 12 hours when you're not flying, or study in a hole at the squadron when you're not flying - what's the difference? Don't like it? Grab a ruck and a rifle, and stand around in about 130 degree heat for a few months. Vance, Whiting, Corpus, doesn't matter. Ya got it made, take it for what's it worth and be glad you aren't the guy that didn't get the pilot slot when you applied for it.

And pitt flyer: by the way hero, some have experienced both. Who's kidding who?

Looks yourself in the mirror? What is this, a poorly made action film? Or a Mike Jackson song? Damn dude.
 
i went to Vance and loved it. a lot of marines and navy dudes hated it, but i felt it was the best training. after going through k-rock, i'm convinced it was hands down the best training. others have different opinions, but i think the day-to-day training value was better. the life in navy training is WAY better, but the AF does get you through much quicker. the dudes i went through primary with got winged 10 months before i did. then they went to iff and their frs, and still have made it to their squadrons before me.
i also think that the AF's approach to safety is far and away better. i was shocked at what appeared to me to be a total lack of regard for safety...at least compared to the AF. now i sit here and try and figure out why the navy and marine corps have put at least 3 hornets, 1 prowler, a t-34, a t-39, at least 1 harrier, multiple t-45s, and whatever else im not remembering into the dirt or drink this fiscal year. i havent heard of any where near that many AF class A equivalents. i dont have the actual numbers though.
just an opinion though. i definitely like not having to show up for 12 hour days when im not even scheduled to fly.
 
I think we have spoken on this topic ad naseum. Its kinda like a Democrat arguing with a Republican.. noone is gonna chance anyones minds.
