I'm currently separated and, despite my wife having had a number of affairs the past couple years, she is entitled to half our "marital property," which means she is entitled to half the company I started and built into a successful software company, even though she has spent the majority of her daily time the past two years playing Internet role-playing games and meeting guys online (55+ hours per week, by good tracking software I have, was her average for a representative period last spring) while our kids are at school and several nights a week in the 10 pm to 2 am time slot. Her current boyfriend is a gamer she met online who has been through 5 jobs in 4 years. Still, upon the divorce, I have to hand her half, currently worth several million dollars, that she and her current dude can enjoy.

Listen to Masterbates. Life may suck now, but it can get much worse.

Wow, I was always under the impression that proven infidelity pretty much negated any claims the guilty party had to communal marriage property! That sucks man.....

Not in FL, it doesn't... The woman can make a porno, and still get 1/2 or more of your crap.. 1/2 is the starting point, and it only goes up from there.

The following were involved with my case, and she still got MORE than 1/2 (she got it all, minus my truck and bike, and I got all the debt).

Cheating, insanity, career sabotage (she admitted to it), none of it mattered.

What can/can't you send to Candidates?

My cousin is currently at Marine OCS and I just wanted to know what they could receive in a Care Package. Can they receive any cookies/candy/magazines/etc? Thanks!!

You can send ANYTHING you like..

What the staff will do about it may be slightly comical..

*don't send alcohol or any illicit substances... That WILL cause great pain, and won't be funny.. Playgirl or Gay Porn is bound to get some laughs..

I agree with everyone else. It doesn't sound like she is in this for the long haul. Another thing that might be helpful in the future if you do find Ms. Right, Pre-Nup and a good lawyer. You never know what the future holds.

Send a giant jar full of mayonnaise, and on it write: "I know how much you LOVE mayonnaise."

Also, your cousin probably has a billet, so don't send it to "Candidate X", send it to "Major X".

I'm sure that he would love the mayonnaise but I think that the gay porn is more is style. :)
I wanted to send him a Guns & Ammo Magazine, but I didn't know if he could receive that there without pushing for it.

Wow, Man that sucks. Now...you see why I do not have any pitty when I hear that this dude killed his wife or something crazy like that. I always say to my friends that the bitch must have drained his last bile. It is quite a pitty that you have to go through all these. I hope everything works out well for ya.

In our platoon any candidates who got magazines or newspapers or stuff like that had to go and open it up in front of the staff. They kept them all in a locker and the candidates were allowed to get them on liberty. They couldnt have them at night though during the normal week. Same thing with candy and power bars, etc

Unless he specifically requests something (unlikely, since most of the stuff he will "need," such as foot powder, moleskin, etc. he will have ample opportunity to get during PX runs and on liberty), don't send him anything other than normal letters or cards. Additionally, he would probably appreciate pictures, newspaper clippings, sports standings, etc. If you send a package, it will attract unnecessary attention. As noted above, much of what you would send him in a care package he will not be able to utilize, anyway.
