We had a saying at the Citadel that I think sums up about every military college out there: " It's a great school to be from, a crappy school to be at" Military colleges are good in some aspects: Nothing beats the discipline that you'll get there, the educations are usually first rate, and the stringent Honor Code that you live by while you're there helps set you up to be an officer of integrity. That being said, they also have some negatives. I know that many grads of military colleges tend to be socially retarded when we first graduate. It's a product of only getting to be a normal young adult 3 nights a week. And unless you get a summer apartment alot of military school guys have trouble with things like bills and grocery shopping and stuff like that when they first graduate. Again, the four years they were at their respective institutions that stuff was taken care of for them. Summary: Military colleges are excellent places for developing things that are really important in life; honor, integrity, self-discipline, hard work, accountability, how to put up with bullsh!t . But they tend to lack in some of the other areas of life; Independence, living on a budget, how to throw a good party where the there aren't 15 dudes and 1 girl. Things of that nature. In the end, a military college is definately worth it. So hang in there don't let The Man bring you down, have a little fun amongst all the push-ups, and look towards the day when you get to cross the stage and say: "I'm an Alumni".
Edit: not hating on civilian schools; I know some good officers that went to civilian schools. They each have their pros and cons
