May boards

I've found that alcohol helps hurry the wait. I mean don't get stupid on me or anything and go super overboard.

Man, you guys are being a bunch of downers. This is supposed to be an exciting thread. Just heard from my OR yesterday that my app will officially be reviews for the may boards. I just hope we get the results this week.

I'd be surprised if we heard back this week (especially on the East coast)- considering that the selection board meets Friday.

I'm thinkin we have to sit tight for another week after the board meets and would be lucky to know by the following thursday or friday...

patience is a virtue, yet it is one I do not have.

That's the date that I heard as well. I haven't heard specifically if I'll be evaluated at the May board, but my OR seemed to think that that would be the case. I haven't gone in for MEPS yet.

Exercise, alcohol, and any viable distraction you can think of is the pace of the next two weeks. It is nerve wracking but seriously think....when was it last that you felt so alive? Selected or not this is a turning point for most of the people on here that they will remember the rest of their lives. If that doesn't motivate you and get your blood burning, readying yourself for that next 3-6 mile jaunt this afternoon....what will? Not only do we have to be patient but positive! Use the energy waiting creates and go be a badass. The willingness to act and take responsibility is a defining trait in an effective officer. Go start being effective Officer Candidates and encourage others that are going throught the same thing! Thats showing leadership and initiative which are required at OCS. Your training starts right now. Get up, step up, or continue to be useless.

Archanan: that's quite the motivational statement there... You make me want to run lol. I decided to quit smoking today... it sucks... I ran and was wheezing. I need to kick that before OCS starts but I'm confident I will survive it fine.

Grumman, Sorry to hear about the push back but I'm sure you will do fine next month. Good Luck!

Stick to it bro. Ya kicking smoking is rough but just keep that end goal in sight. Remember life is ALL about motivation. Just gotta remember how to maintain your own so you can support your ambitions.....while dragging everyone else along kicking and screaming ;)

I just wanted to thank you guys and your ORs. Because I'm AD I don't have an OR to bug whenever I get an itch, you are my only source of info about board meetings and selection news. Since the word is that the board is meeting Friday I'm hoping I (my Chief that is) can play off you guys' info and call over there next week like Renegade did and find out the good news.

Good luck to everyone, especially me.:D

gahhh I just found out that the processor sent my package in too late even though I had it turned in on the 25th of April! Oh well.. Good luck to you all, I guess I have to wait another month. :icon_rage

my OR sent mine in late april (around the 23rd) and i talked to him yesterday and he said i made it into all three boards (intel, swo, supply). I'm glad too, because i am running out of money. Also, does anyone know how long it would take to start OCS if I haven't gone to MEPS or done my PRT?

Thats a good reason to be excited... This is a dream for me :(.

I found out that I won't make the pilot board this month because apparently my application did not have adaquate changes to be reviewed again. However, the NFO and SWO boards will still see my application. Now I am feeling like I am slighted a little bit this month. What a mess..
