Hello all, I am shipping out to Navy OCS in a few weeks but won't actually take the PFT until a month from now due to the ROM. Recently, I have been experiencing knee problems on my right knee, I am an avid runner and run just about every other day and have been doing so since high school. The pain that I am having is ITBS, at least what a friend told me who is a PT practitioner. This type of pain has been on and off over the past few years but I am pretty stressed out now because OCS is coming close. The pain recently came out this past week when I was running. I have taken a break from running but am worried this may not heal in time for OCS. It's not a terrible pain, I can still walk and go up stairs fine but its there. I can run the 1.5 miles in about 10:50, the PFT I am not worried about but it is more about the events after. I am worried that my knee will get worse with all the PT and stress endured at OCS. I would hate to be sent to Med Hold at OCS or even worse, DQD. That being said, what should I do? Should I still go to OCS? I have always wanted to be a Naval Officer and am worried that this may screw up everything. Should I tell my recruiter? Is there anyone else that went to OCS with a similar problem and made it through? Thank you, all advice is appreciated.
