That sort of thing has a lot more to do with sensationalism than any particular political bias, IMHO. Big story surfacing involving violence, controversy, and strong emotions on either side? Great ratings- lead it. Same story going away or turning out not to be the big deal they thought it was? Boring, who wants to watch that? It's all about the bottom line. Besides, the major media did all cover the fact that the Marine got cleared, just without a lot of fanfare.

My thoughts exactly. It's amazing how this almost never stops people from running their sucks about something they know nothing about, as long as they have some kind of half-assed opinion about it.
